Welcome

Welcome to my little corner of the web. I'm glad you stopped by. I hope that you will take a look around, enjoy some of the quotations, perhaps try out a recipe or two, and share in some of my rants and observations about life.

I've got eclectic taste when it comes to most things and a wide variety of interests, and and I hope you'll find that this website represents that.

More About Me Read Less

So, you want to read more “about me”, do you? I find this topic to be one of the hardest to write about because I spend most of my time just “being” rather than introspecting. I also dislike being put into any boxes and who I am depends largely on when you ask me and on the context of the situation. I suppose I could start by telling you what I spend most of my time doing…

I graduated from Stanford University with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and a minor in Psychology, and am currently working as a consultant in Northern California's Silicon Valley. Those in the high-tech industry will agree that there's no better place to work if you're looking for a fast-paced career in bleeding-edge technology. The amount of innovation that goes on in this place is exciting for young, single, workaholic adrenaline junkies. While the technology is what drew me here, the caliber of people in the Bay Area is what's keeping me here, for now. It’s rare to be surrounded by so many smart, creative, hard-working, and forward thinking people. I am blessed to be able to call so many of these brilliant individuals friends.

While I do spend a fair amount of time working, (I mean, who in the Bay Area doesn't, what with cost of living rocketing through the roof), I have many interests that occupy my time after hours. At any given time, I have half a dozen pet projects in the works, which makes me a bit ADD, but life has so much to offer, why pick only one thing in which to be interested. Currently, my resume lists my avocations as: cooking, ballroom dancing, travel, fine dining, music (oboist), volunteerism, and woodworking. Some of these hobbies receive more attention than others, but that's largely a result of convenience and focusing on those hobbies in which my friends are also interested. Trust me, if I could devote 8 hours a week to spend in a woodshop or kitchen without having to sacrifice time with friends, that's where you'd find me.

So, that’s what I do, but I really haven’t told you about why I do any of these things. Let’s see if I can come up with three themes that can tie all my hobbies and my career choices together…
