Ticket to the Tropics...
I miss the salty air.
I miss crispy battered french fries.
I miss poolside ribs.
I miss lazy afternoons.
I miss guilt-free drinking, at all hours.
I miss snack bars open til BA GIO SANG!! (3 AM).
I miss Flirtinis.
I miss sharing 500 sq. ft of living space with 9 others.
But most of all, I miss H, T, A, J, S, N, H, V, D, C, T. (names concealed to protect the not-so-innocent).
In case you haven't figured it out, I had fun on the wedding cruise from which I just got home. I would say that I, myself, wouldn't normally choose to go on a cruise, but there are parts of it that are very charming and appealing.
First, there's the non-stop consumption of food, or for those with more self-control the constant availability of food. Then, there's the convenience of having everything in one place...pool, rock climbing, mini golf, theater, club, casino, shops, pretty much everything you can think. Never having to walk more than a few feet has the advantage of guilt-free drinking. Aside from all this though, I would say the advantage of cruising is the company. We went with a large group of friends, and friends of friends, which meant there were a ton of people to hang out with and to meet.
I have not partied that hard, or had that many laughs in a while -- thanks everyone for making it so enjoyable!
For those of you who want a more detailed recap: I ate a lot, I danced a lot, I drank a drink every 2-3 waking hour, I had deep conversations, I met new friends, I bonded with old ones, I smiled, I laughed, I strutted around, I ate, did I mention I ate?
Now I must be getting back to this tedious thing called work. I miss you all already. Each of you, in your special way, has left a footprint in my heart...keep in touch!
Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
Bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go
Jamaica
Off the florida keys
Theres a place called kokomo
Thats where you wanna go to get away from it all
Bodies in the sand
Tropical drink melting in your hand
Well be falling in love
To the rhythm of a steel drum band
Down in kokomo
Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go
Ooo I wanna take you down to kokomo
Well get there fast
And then well take it slow
Thats where we wanna go
Way down to kokomo
To martinique, that monserrat mystique
Well put out to sea
And well perfect our chemistry
By and by well defy a little bit of gravity
Afternoon delight
Cocktails and moonlit nights
That dreamy look in your eye
Give me a tropical contact high
Way down in kokomo
Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go
Ooo I wanna take you down to kokomo
Well get there fast
And then well take it slow
Thats where we wanna go
Way down to kokomo
Port au prince I wanna catch a glimpse
Everybody knows
A little place like kokomo
Now if you wanna go
And get away from it all
Go down to kokomo
Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go
Ooo I wanna take you down to kokomo
Well get there fast
And then well take it slow
Thats where we wanna go
Way down to kokomo
Aruba, jamaica ooo I wanna take you
To bermuda, bahama come on pretty mama
Key largo, montego baby why dont we go
Ooo I wanna take you down to kokomo
